The Online Tally Sheet is now in operation. This system allows each school and library to submit votes for the Book Awards by entering numbers into the appropriate boxes of an online form.

Once submitted this way, the tally sheets will be much easier to total up. Since there are 53 books on the list this time, and each book has 3 boxes (Really Liked, OK, Didn't Like), there are potentially 159 little boxes to fill in. This can cause anybody to get slightly weary if an attempt is made to enter ALL items at once. Therefore, we have set up a registration system requiring the use of a username and password. Using the username/password that you will set up, you can make as many visits to the "voting booth" as you need to, in order to finish entering all items. The ability to edit the sheets will be available up until the minute voting is closed.

Note: Previously created User IDs and passwords will still work. Last year's ballots have been deleted.

After you have created a User ID, and have completed the registration phase, there will be a choice at login time:

  • Sort books alphabetically. This option will display all titles from A-Z, regardless of the category they fall into.
  • Group by Category. This option will display the titles grouped by category. The titles within each category will be listed in alphabetical order.
You must choose between these 2 options EACH TIME you login. You MAY submit a sheet using either option, and come back, login using the other option, make changes to your sheet and submit those changes....In other words, choosing how the titles are displayed does NOT affect how they are stored internally.

Use the link below to create a User ID and password. There is only one tally sheet allowed per User ID. You may create as many User IDs as you need to, we may need to use snail mail and/or telephone calls to verify that we are getting valid submissions.

Register to Submit Book Award Votes

Immediately after creating your User ID, you will be able to go directly to the "voting booth". The link below is provided for subsequent updating of your tally sheet (or if for some reason you did not vote immediately after registering).

    Submit/Edit Book Award Tally Sheet

Some people may want to print a worksheet before they vote. This is not required, but may make things more convenient. Select from the following (printable using your browser's PRINT feature). Please be sure that your printer doesn't inadvertently skip over one of the 58 titles when doing a page change.:

Please report any problems using the tally system to:
